AMBITION: Ambition is vital when working within the industry. The more ambition you the more people will believe in your potential. If you radiate success the people around you will trust and invest in your future.
NETWORKING & CONTACTS:Within this industry one important contact can make your career. Networking is a huge part of fashion and the more contacts you have the more opportunities are likely to come your way.
TEAM WORK: A lot of team work is practiced in the fashion industry. For example If working for a label or name in marketing or advertising you will be constantly communicating with a PR company and working together to achieve a goal.
PRESENTATION IS KEY: Presentation is key and will be the first thing a client notice about you. Having style and pulling it off will make a big difference when meeting a potential client as they will remember you. How you look can reflect on the type of work you create.
HARD SKILLS & SOFT SKILLS
Hard Skills' are specific teachable abilities that can be defined and measured such as degree in photography, fashion promotion, styling. Fluency in a variety of different languages, being computer literate e.g. using Adobe software and social media. Compared to hard skills soft skills are less tangible and harder to quantify such as teamwork, communication, flexibility, patience, time management, self motivation, self awareness, initiative and a sense of humour.
